PRE-MARITAL SEX
This study will not deal with the standard reasons for why this is wrong, but will look at the issue from a different perspective, one that I suspect that few people think about.
Why is it wrong?
What far too many people including Christians seem to be unaware of, is the fact that when a man and a woman have sex they become "one flesh" in the eyes of God. Adam understood this when he said,
GENESIS 2:23-24
23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
And here is where the problem begins.
Satan is the ultimate lawyer and will use any disobedience to God's commandments to request permission of God to attack people, especially Christians, and bring them under bondage or possession.
Solomon knew of this when he said;
ECCLESIASTES 10:8
8 He who digs a pit will fall into it, and whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent.
Satan complained to God concerning Job, because He had placed a hedge of protection about him, so that he, Satan could not get to him.
JOB 1:6-22
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.
7 And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
8 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
9 So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
11 But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!”
12 And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
13 Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house;
14 and a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,
15 when the Sabeans raided them and took them away—indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
17 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
18 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,
19 and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”
20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.
21 And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
22 In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.
This same hedge is placed about us as Christians by the Lord, and if we break that hedge
through sin, Satan will have access to us.
And here resides the point of the pre-marital sex issue.
As an unmarried man and woman become "one flesh", the demons in either party have now legal access to both parties, thereby bringing both people under bondage to Satan, as they are now both one in body and spirit.
So if one person who is free of demonic infestation has sex outside of marriage with a demon-infested person, the demons have a legal right to enter the clean person due to their bonding and their disobedience of God's commandments. And if both are clean, Satan has access to both of them because of the same disobedience.
The hedge has been breached.
Can Christians be infested with demons this way?
Unfortunately, yes, because they have disobeyed the Lord's commandments. God has commanded that a man and woman have sex only after marriage and only with each other for this very reason. As the author of Hebrews says;
HEBREWS 13:4
4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers
God will judge.
To further protect His people, He also said through the apostle Paul;
1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Note: "Fornicators" are those who have sex while unmarried.
"Effeminate" are those who are transvestites and cross-dressers.
"Sodomites"refers to homosexuals.
Furthermore, Christians need to understand;
1 CORINTHIANS 6:15-20
15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!
16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.”
17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
God specifically gives warning to protect His people from complications arising from marrying a spiritually unclean partner;
2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-18
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?
16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
17 Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
Your body is God's Temple! If you have sex outside of marriage, commit adultery, or marry someone who doesn't have Jesus in their heart, you defile your body, which is His Temple.
And woe to those who defile His Temple, for He again says through the apostle Paul;
1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17
16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
17 If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy,
which temple you are.
As previously stated, when a man and a woman join together, they become "one flesh" in
the eyes of God. Which means that you are considered married in the eyes of God! And if
you go from partner to partner, you commit adultery in the eyes of God, because you have left
your first ‘spouse’!
As God stated to the children of Israel concerning unmarried women;
EXODUS 22:16
16 “If a man entices a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely pay the
bride-price for her to be his wife.
He also put further restrictions upon them concerning the issue, as well as that of rape and adultery when He said;
DEUTERONOMY 22:22-29
22 “If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die—the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; so you shall put away the evil from Israel.
23 “If a young woman who is a virgin is betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her,
24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he humbled his neighbor’s wife; so you shall put away the evil from among you.
25 “But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die.
26 But you shall do nothing to the young woman; there is in the young woman no sin deserving of death, for just as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, even so is this matter.
27 For he found her in the countryside, and the betrothed young woman cried out, but there was no one to save her.
28 “If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out,
29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman’s father fifty shekels of
silver, and she shall be his wife because he has humbled her; he shall not be permitted to
divorce her all his days.
Note that last part of verse 29? If you sleep with an unmarried woman, God says you will make her your wife, and you may never divorce her! (The 50 shekels of silver was the dowry price paid to the father of the woman, to compensate him for the loss of his daughter.)
We live today in a permissive society that tolerates and even encourages pre-marital sex, and our children are being taught that pre-marital sex is ok, "as long as you use protection". Some institutions even pass out free condoms.
But they are ignorant of the spiritual implications of pre-marital sex!
I know of numerous households where a teenage daughter had a sudden personality change,
becoming belligerent, disobedient to her parents, spiteful, and hateful, and it was later discovered
that she had been having sex with her boyfriend. The same with boys who were having sex with
their girlfriends. A sudden personality change is many times a major sign of demonic activity
within a person's life, and shows that the demon(s) are gaining control, and the demonic
personalities are showing through the person.
Parents, you are responsible for the actions of your children while they are under your roof. Therefore they are under your authority, and you are required to teach them the laws that God has set down concerning issues such as this.
Those who don't, fall under the condemnation of;
1 TIMOTHY 5:8
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he
has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
INSTRUCTIONS
Those who have had pre-marital sex need to repent before Jesus, asking His forgiveness of their sins and disobedience, even if you married the partner you had sex with. Then you must petition Him to break the spiritual and demonic links between you and your former partners. If you had pre-marital sex only with your present spouse, ask God to cleanse and sanctify the bonds between you.
You must also command that any demons that entered you and may have entered your spouse through your disobedience and the sexual act depart in the name of Jesus Christ.
Then ask Jesus to close any doorways in your spirit that might have been opened for Satan to enter by your acts, and ask Him to cover any links between you and your former partners with His blood, that they may be severed once and for all.
Finally, ask Him to separate you from the sins of your former partners, and cleanse you
through His blood, that you may be clean.
And above all, if you have children, teach them about the spiritual dangers of pre-marital sex!
As Proverbs so eloquently states;
PROVERBS 22:6
6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Those of you who have read this study are now responsible before the Lord for the knowledge you have been given. Satan will probably try to hinder you from acting on this knowledge, and whether he is successful or not is largely up to you.
As the apostle James says;
JAMES 4:17
17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Remember the hedge! It's hard to defend your fortress when the enemy is already within the gates!
